How To Transfer From Windows 10 to Windows 11 – Including All Files, Profiles, Programs

Windows 10 to Windows 11

Got a new laptop with Windows 11, and want to copy everything from an old Windows 10 to the new Windows 11 PC? This tutorial will show you how to do that.

We will show you how to keep not only all of your files, but also profiles, settings, favorites, accounts, passwords, and even your programs and apps: everything that makes your new computer feel and act just like the old one (but with a new Windows, of course!)

Is it possible to transfer from Windows 10 to Windows 11? Aren’t they different?

Yes, transfer from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is very much possible, and your Windows 10 apps will work on Windows 11 just fine (once you get them copied). In fact, while the two systems have a different look, they are very close in terms of how they are built “under the hood”. You could say that Windows 11 is an “upgrade” of Windows 10, rather than a completely different system. Windows 11 does have a few core differences, but they are mostly around security and Cloud integration – which means that there is no problem in copying your Windows 10 stuff to the new Windows 11 PC.

Moving from Windows 10 to Windows 11

Windows 11 does not include any built-in “Easy Transfer” functionality.

Luckily, there is an even simpler way to transfer programs, settings and files from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

We will be using a transfer software called Zinstall WinWin. It performs a complete transfer from Windows 10 to Windows 11 automatically, and you don’t need to be a computer guru to use it.

There are 3 parts that are important to the transfer:

  • Files, such documents, pictures, music, pictures and emails
  • Settings, such as user profiles, emails, accounts, passwords, favorites, bookmarks, wallpaper and other personalization
  • Programs, such as transferring Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Chrome, Adobe Photoshop, Quickbooks, TurboTax and other programs to the new computer

How to transfer from a Windows 10 to a Windows 11 computer

  1. Run Zinstall WinWin on your old Windows 10 computer.

  2. Run Zinstall WinWin on the new Windows 11 computer
    • You don’t need to do any configurations for the computers to connect – it’s automatic
    • If the computers are already connect to same internet router, same Internet connection, or same wireless connection, you don’t need anything else
    • If the computers are not connected at all, connect them with a network / Ethernet cable
  3. If you’d like to select which applications and files you want to transfer, press the Advanced menu. If you just want to transfer everything, you don’t need to go to the Advanced menu.
  4. Press “Go” on the Windows 11 computer to start the transfer

That’s it – that’s all you need too transfer from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Once the process is complete, your new Windows 11 PC will have your applications, profiles, accounts and files just like on the old Windows 10.
